What do I need a baby spoon for?
As soon as your baby is ready for their first baby food, it becomes essential: a baby spoon! These feeding spoons for baby food are made specifically for the sensitive palates of little food explorers and offer many advantages over regular metal spoons.
Between the 5th and 7th month of life, the time has come: the first solid food is on the menu! To make your baby's first feeding attempts with carrot or parsnip puree successful, there are special baby spoons for feeding baby food.
What are the advantages of a special baby spoon?
A baby spoon for feeding baby food offers several advantages over regular metal teaspoons:
Baby spoons are made of plastic (BPA-free as required by law) or silicone and therefore have especially soft edges. This protects your baby's sensitive palate and first little teeth. In addition, the front of the spoon is noticeably narrower and so fits optimally into the small mouths of beginner eaters.
Another advantage: baby spoons have an especially long handle – ideal for getting even the last bit out of the baby food jar without getting mom's or dad's fingers all messy. On some baby spoons, the end of the handle is even slightly curved, so the baby spoon doesn't slide into the baby bowl.
Baby spoon with heat sensor for extra safety
A special variant of the baby spoon is a spoon with a heat sensor. Here, the front part of the spoon changes color if your baby's food is still too hot (above approx. 39°C). This way, you can always be sure your baby won't get burned.
